2nd Coming Of Jesus Christ And Why It Matters To You
Hey, real talk for a minute.
The world feels wild and crazy right now.
Everyone’s asking the same questions:
What’s going on? Is there any hope? Does my life even matter?
And into all that noise, Jesus drops this massive promise:
“I’m coming back.”
Not as a threat. - Not as a scare tactic.
But as the ultimate hope.
5 Crucial Points To Think About Jesus' Return:
1) JESUS PROMISED TO COME BACK — AND HE KEEPS EVERY PROMISE
Jesus said it Himself:
“I will come again and take you to be with Me.”
He didn’t say maybe.
He didn’t say if you’re good enough.
He said I will.
The same Jesus who kept every promise the first time He came
— born exactly as prophesied, died exactly as He said, rose exactly as He said —
is the same Jesus who said,
“I’m coming back for you.”
2) THE SECOND COMING IS ABOUT HOPE, NOT FEAR
A lot of people talk about the end times like it’s a horror movie.
But Jesus didn’t give this promise to scare you —
He gave it to steady you.
Because when He returns:
Evil doesn’t win - Pain doesn’t last - Injustice doesn’t get the final word
Death doesn’t get the final say
The Second Coming is God saying:
“I will fix what the world broke.”
3) WHY IT MATTERS TO YOU RIGHT NOW
You might think,
“Okay… but what does that have to do with my life today?”
Everything!
Because if Jesus is coming back:
You don’t have to live hopeless. - Your story isn’t random. - Your pain isn’t wasted.
Your future isn’t empty. - You don’t have to live scared. - Jesus isn’t abandoning you.
He’s preparing you. - You don’t have to live confused. - Your identity isn’t in culture, trends, or mistakes
It’s in the One who’s coming back for you.
4) HOW TO LIVE READY (WITHOUT LIVING SCARED)
Jesus never said, “Predict the date.”
He said, “Be ready.”
Being ready doesn’t mean being perfect.
It means being connected.
Connected to Jesus. Connected to His love. Connected to His purpose.
It means living like:
your choices matter - your faith matters - your love matters - your life matters
Because it does.
5) THE SECOND COMING IS A LOVE STORY
This is the part most people miss.
Jesus isn’t returning as a stranger.
He’s returning as the One who:
knows you - loves you - died for you - rose for you
and refuses to leave you behind
The Second Coming is Jesus saying:
“I’m not done with you. I’m not done with this world. I’m coming back to make everything new.”
CLOSING CHALLENGE
So, here’s the question:
If Jesus came back today, would you be excited… or scared?
Not because you’re “good enough,”
but because you know Him —
and you know He loves you.
Hope isn’t a feeling.
Hope is a Person.
And that Person is coming back.
PRAYER
Jesus, thank You for Your promise to return.
Help me live with hope, not fear.
Help me stay close to You, trust You, and follow You.
Let my life reflect Your love until the day You come again.
Amen.
